Radon is a natural radioactive gas that comes from the ground. It has no smell, color, or taste, but it can build up in homes, especially in basements.

Breathing in too much radon over time can cause lung cancer.

Radon is very common in Maine, and Efficiency Maine allows radon testing costs to be included in air sealing and weatherization rebates!!

We are a licensed testing company and portable lab. We use Airthings continuous monitors, specifically the Corentium Pro. This device employs alpha spectrometry and silicon photodiodes to accurately measure radon levels. (Counts radioactive particles as they move through a filter)

If you are considering home performance upgrades ask your efficiency Maine vendor if they can perform or facilitate a Radon test!
